Students of the University of Lagos, Akoka, are complaining about the congested nature of their examinations to be written at short notice.
The students took to social media to express their dissatisfaction as those in 300 level up to 500 level are expected to write examinations for nine courses in the space of one week, without prior notification.
According to the students, lectures for the semester was not held, but course materials were dropped on E-learning sites for students to teach and develop themselves.
It will be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had been on a 10 months old strike which coincided with the COVID-19 lockdown, which prompted most institutions to start lectures virtually.
The strike ended January 2021, after the union reached an agreement with the Federal Government.
While complaining bitterly most of them took to their Twitter handles to write;
Do you think the institution is being fair to the students, or is it just part of the educational process and decision the school needs to take to meet up with the year’s academic calendar, because going by how long students stayed at home, they have been on the same academic year for two years now which was inevitable in all ways.
