Non-teaching staff at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo under Joint Action Committee (JAC) have announced the commencement of a two-week warning strike.
In a letter obtained by Niger Delta Connect, signed by Chairman, SSANU, Comrade Abayomi Oluwaseyi and the Secretary, Comrade Ojo Jeremiah and other union leaders which was addressed to the VC of UNIMED, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, the unions, disclosed that the enforcement of the strike is complete and total.
The statement reads: “Fraternal and solidarity greetings from the Executive Committee and members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of SSANU and NASU In the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Ondo State.
“We write to notify you that, following the directive of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of SSANU and NASU in the Universities and Inter University Centres across the Nation, we are embarking on a 2-week warning strike in the first instance.
“Please note that all our members are under the strict directive of the National Leadership of JAC of SSANU and NASU to vacate their duty posts to ensure compliance with the strike order to drive home our demands as earlier presented. Please note that the two weeks warning strike shall be comprehensive and total as no concession shall be given in any guise”.
