The long time dream of the people of Owo Kingdom in upgrading the Federal Government owned Health Institution (FMC) in the ancient town got a boost on Tuesday as His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III led Obas, Chiefs and other prominent sons and daughters of the kingdom to receive in audience the Governing Council of Federal University of Technology, Akure into the palace on courtesy call.

This was contained in a statement made available to Journalists by Media Adviser to the monarch, Mr Sam Adewale.
It noted that, the Governing Council led by its Chairman Ambassador GodsPower Igali were in the palace to pay homage to Olowo before embarking on its official tour of the Federal Medical Centre to inspect the available facilities on ground in anticipation of upgrading the institution to a Teaching Hospital.
While speaking on the Council’s mission in Owo, the Chairman, Ambassador Igali who was impressed with the warm reception accorded his team, extolled the virtues of Owo Kingdom in relation to the intense promotion of culture and tradition, describing it as second to none in Nigeria and beyond.
The Chairman said the cherished culture of the kingdom prompted his two daughters who also have been reading and hearing about Owo, volunteered to accompany him in the journey to Owo.
Ambassador Igali informed that, Owo played prominent roles in bringing the University to its present status and there is nothing wrong if the school reciprocate such gesture by considering what will be of great benefits to the community, University and all Nigerians saying, as the institution is planning to positively move forward, Owo should be part by assigning a critical role for a positive result.
In his address, Oba Ogunoye appreciated the Council for the visit to his palace, adding that the purpose of the visit to the kingdom would facilitate the approval of her long yearning dream.

The Monarch reiterated the commitment of the kingdom in continuous uplifting her culture and tradition saying, ‘it’s our life and remained our pride’.
Oba Ogunoye congratulated the citadel of learning for being blessed with arrays of credible hands in administering the institution at this particular point in time.
Commenting on the purpose of the Council’s visit to the Federal Medical Centre, the Monarch disclosed that coming and working together of two Federal Institutions is a welcome development which at the end would benefit the society in all facets of human endeavours.
Oba Ogunoye however, pledged his cooperation and by extension the entire kingdom to the realization of the long time dream of the ancient kingdom.
