A yet to be identified man, who disguised himself and sneaked into a female hostel of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was later caught and stripped naked by students of the institution on Monday.
Punch reports that the student had dressed like a lady and quietly tip-toed into the hostel attempting to visit a female friend who has avoided him for no reason whatsoever.
A source said the man went there to apologise to his female friend whom he has promised a lot but has not been able to meet up demands so she allegedly seized his mobile phone when she paid him a visit outside the campus.
“It was in order to gain access to the hostel of his female friend that made him dress in a feminine attire.
According to him; “The female friend has been avoiding him after taking his phone.
Unfortunately, luck ran out of him when his movement became suspicious by some student who had the feeling that something was not right about his dressing, they mobilized, held the young man down and pull off the attire off his body,” the source stated.
When the ladies had discovered this, they raised alarm and it caught the attention of their male counterparts where he was thoroughly beaten up to an extent where he could have been killed but the campus security personnel intervened.
Christian Amadi, the Student Union Government president confirmed the incidence said that the young man who was beaten up and stripped naked claimed not to be a student of the institution.
The president of the Students’ Union Government in the institution, Christian Amadi, who confirmed the incident, said the man claimed that he was not a student of the institution.
“Yes, this happened around 10pm yesterday (Monday). Before we got to the place, the school security personnel had already intervened and took him into custody. The man claimed that he was not a student; I think the security personnel are still investigating the matter,” Amadi stated.
Asked if the man was beaten, the SUG president said the students might have done that in self defence, but expressed happiness that the man had been taken into custody.
The management of the institution had barred inter sex visits to hostels after three students allegedly gang-raped a female student in one of the men’s hostels last year, which led to the suspension of school activities.
