It is common to feel bored at certain times. Boredom is a common feeling that everyone feels. It is when you are unsatisfied by an activity, or uninterested in it. Boredom may occur when you feel energetic but have nowhere to direct your energy. It may also occur when you have difficulty focusing on a task. Other reasons you don’t get excited over things could be because of your emotional state.
It could also be that you are depressed. Depression can make one loose interest in things that are usually motivating. Depression causes lack of motivation, which in turn keeps you from accomplishing things that you used to.
Another reason why you feel bored and unexcited about things could be that you are not taking care of your mental and physical health. Finally, it could be that you have suddenly become boring. This happens when you are engrossed with routines. No innovations and creativity.
Excitingly, the feeling of boredom can be conquered and that’s something that should be uplifting to you. The following can lighten you up and make you feel rejuvenated again whenever you loose your excitement or things around you seem to be boring.
- First, figure out what you are doing that brings the boredom and find out what to do about it: Some engagements and actions, tend to make one loose focus and interest. Sometimes, following same pattern or method to achieve a process can in fact be tiring. After discovering the cause of the boredom, think of what could excite you well enough and as well discover new Ways to achieve your task. You need to solve the problem of boredom.
- Try something new: One of the ways to tackle boredom is to lay your hands on something new. Do something you are afraid of, something challenging. When your energy is channelled into something new, you become more excited about it and would want to complete such a task with ease. You can learn a new dance, learn a new recipe. Pick up a new book. Engage in do it yourself (DIY)activities. The trick is to try something new. The advantage of trying something new is that a new hobby could be gotten. You will realize that a new skill has been added to the one you already have.
- Get into the Job: Sometimes the work we do may not just excite us. You have to find ways to engage your mind in the work you are currently doing and stay focused.
- Get connected with friends, families and colleagues: When you feel bored and unexcited over things, reach out to friends and families to get that vibe back. Your friends and family could help you get on track again and feel revitalized. Reach out to your colleagues as well, especially when you are around official environment. A minute phone conversation or that five minutes conversation could do the trick.
