Nollywood Actor Daniel K. Daniel has responded to critics who have questioned how he was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (the Oscars’ organizers), claiming that he did not receive the invitation because he is based in the United States.
When the father of one first moved to the United States, people assumed he would work as a security guard or at McDonald’s.
He wrote: “It’s so funny that when I moved to the US, people said I would become a security guard or work at McDonald’s. Now that I’m invited to the Academy, them still dey talk say na because I dey Yankee! E no correlate. Guys don’t hate the player, hate the game”.
