Perekeme Richard Kpodoh, former Special Adviser on Security to former Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state is in tatters because of bad leadership.
He explained that the APC is now a shadow of itself as those who constitute themselves as the leaders of the party, runs its affairs like their personal estate.
Kpodoh who recently joined the PDP said he decided to dump the APC because of lack of internal democracy and the fact that in Bayelsa the party has lost its relevance.
The former security adviser who claimed to have brought the APC to Bayelsa, also described the party as a den of sycophants who never see anything wrong with what the leader does, adding that it would be impossible to build democracy on a foundation of dictatorship, deceit and arrogance.
He stated that he is at peace with himself for joining the PDP and does not have any regret as Governor Douye Diri is providing the right leadership and the dividends of democracy that the people yearn for.
In his words “I planned to decamp to the PDP but I decided to wait till the right time. APC members are known to be noisemakers, arrogant and deceitful. The leadership behaves as if other members of the party are nothing. But when Governor Douye Diri came in I knew there will be changes and so decided to decamp. I’ve known Diri during the late Chief Diepreye Alamieyesigha’s administration.
“Imagine a party that will direct its members to fill vacant positions through undemocratic means. A party that bullies its members, that is not a party. The APC is been run by selected few who decides and dictates for the rest of its members in the scheme of things. That is not a party at all.
“I enjoin all those left in the APC not to waste their time there again but come to the PDP and join Governor Douye Diri in his effort to create a greater Bayelsa”.
