The Woman Leader of Young Progressives Party (YPP), Imo State chapter, Chika Uju has condemned the terrorist attacks on Kuje Medium Custodial Centre and presidential advance convoy to Katsina State.
Uju maintained that the two successful attacks show that security has taken a flight in the country.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, Uju said; “Attack in the churches is wrong as God abhors such.
“The attack on Presidential convoy shows how empty our borders are. The Kuje prison attack equally shows that there is no security in the land”.
Uju also condemned the “killing of two sons of an Adamawa State pastor and kidnapping of his daughter as well as killing of Catholic priests as very barbaric and inhumane”.
She declared as unfortunate and surprising that terrorists do not harbour any respect for children of God, noting that the massacre at Owo, Ondo State gives them out as a bunch of blood-suckers who do not deserve to be alive.
The woman leader congratulated Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration and urged them to ensure harmonious co-existence in the country.
According to her, Muslims in Nigeria should uphold the true teachings of Prophet Mohammed and forefather (Abram) as they celebrate Eid-el Kabir festival.
She stressed that the spate of insecurity should be halted by the federal government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
She noted the expiration of Nigeria marriage of 1914, emphasizing that when two or more parties cannot work together it was needful that they go their separate ways instead of killing one another like animals as well as destroying people’s property.
She said, “If we can’t stay together, we can as well stay apart to enable peace reign. For the past seven years of Buhari’s administration, trillions of Dollars have been spent on defence to acquire Tucano jets, helicopters yet we live at the mercy of terrorists that move on motorcycles. Haba! Who is fooling who?
“This terrorist, are they really Nigerians? Who provides those arms and ammunition to them? When are we going to have a fresh breath in our own land?
“My heart bleeds as a mother, seeing innocent people being killed like animals.
“May God comfort those that lost their beloved ones while praying God to locate the little girl of 13 back to her parents since two of her innocent brothers were killed.”
Uju urged Nigerians, especially the youths to live up to expectations of changing the ugly narrative in the country’s leadership and governance as leaders of today and the future, by getting their Permanent Voter’s cards, PVCs and voting wisely to get the right leaders on board to bring about the desired changes in the land.
