Zenith Bank Promotes Non-oil Exports

Zenith Bank Plc has announced that the seventh annual edition of its international trade seminar will be held in Lagos this week.

The seminar, titled ‘Unlocking Opportunities in Nigeria’s Non-Oil Export Business,’ was part of Zenith Bank’s efforts to support the Central Bank of Nigeria’s initiatives to grow the country’s non-oil export sector, according to a statement.

According to the bank, trade practitioners, local and foreign exporters, manufacturers, financial institutions, and government agencies will attend the seminar.

“This forum would provide an opportunity for all participants, including relevant government agencies, to explore ways to unlock the immense opportunities in Nigeria’s non-oil export sector”, it stated.

According to the statement, the welcome address will be given by the Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, Ebenezer Onyeagwu, and the Keynote Speaker will be Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group.

Founder and Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc, Jim Ovia; Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele; Secretary General, African Continental Free Trade Area, Wamkele Mene; and President/Chairman, African Export-Import Bank, Prof. Benedict OkeyOramah will deliver goodwill messages.

The seminar would feature three-panel discussions, according to the statement.

It stated, “The first panel, titled ‘Unlocking opportunities in Nigeria’s non-oil export business: Operators/practitioners’ Perspectives’, will focus on the value chain and prospects of the non-oil export sector and has five discussants, including the Managing Director, GACON Ltd, Adaku Okoro; Managing Director, WACOT, Bibhu Nanda; Group Managing Director, Tulip Cocoa, Johan Van Der Merwe; Managing Director, First Patriot, Santosh Phenany; and Managing Director, Starlink Global & Ideal Ltd, Alhaji Adeyemi Adeniji”.

Recall that, Fidelity Bank Seeks Private Sector Participation In Non-oil Export. Isaiah Ndukwe, Fidelity Bank’s divisional head of export and agriculture, revealed this during the just-concluded 11th edition of the Fidelity Bank Export Management Programme in Lagos.

The program, which was led by renowned instructors from Lagos Business School, personnel from the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), and experts in financial management and exports, covered a wide range of topics, including export paperwork and the application of export development methods.
