Abia CP Urges Officers to Shun Corruption

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, Danladi Isa, has urged officers to uphold a positive image of the police force while actively avoiding corruption.

Isa made this statement during a working tour of the Ohafia Area Command and its divisions. He engaged with officers, discussing the importance of integrity and public trust.

He emphasized the importance of integrity in their duties to foster public trust and ensure effective policing. He informed them that upholding high ethical standards would help officers strengthen community relations and improve the police's reputation.

The CP visited the Igbere and Uzuakoli divisions, engaging with officers from the Abia State joint security outfit, Operation Crush, stationed along Uzuakoli Road. He urged them to foster a positive image of the Nigerian Police Force(NPF) in Abia State.

He urged officers to stay vigilant and uphold professionalism in fulfilling their constitutional duties.

Isa highlighted the significance of community policing and the need to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure peace and security in Abia State.

He also encouraged officers to engage respectfully with the public and to avoid all forms of corruption.

The state police chief stated that indiscipline would not be tolerated, and any officers found in violation would face disciplinary action. He emphasized that the state command, under his leadership, does not tolerate indiscipline. He assured that any officer involved in misconduct would face disciplinary action.

He also encouraged them to remain focused on their responsibilities, especially in capturing and detaining criminals. He added that his goal in visiting the state was to ensure a peaceful and safe environment in Abia, promoting economic development and allowing businesses to thrive.

He promised the officers that those who perform their duties with honesty will receive recognition and rewards.

“To promote excellence, I will introduce a system of positive reinforcement. Officers who demonstrate exemplary conduct and dedication to their duties will be recognized and rewarded.

“This approach will inspire others to emulate their professionalism and commitment. Conversely, any form of misconduct will be addressed in accordance with the law.

“No one is above the law, and those who damage the force's reputation will face appropriate consequences.”
