Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has revealed her aspiration to retire early, sharing her personal story of resilience and determination.
In a candid reflection, she also spoke about her challenging teenage years, marked by a relentless hustle to make ends meet.
Nancy bravely recounted how she juggled multiple jobs to survive, offering a glimpse into the struggles she faced before finding success in the entertainment industry.
Isime, is a Nigerian Nollywood actress, model and a media personality, one who began her career at the tender age of 17, and aimed to reach a certain level of financial security retirement.
She is an alumnus of the University of Lagos, from where she bagged a diploma in Social Work, and the University of Port Harcourt, where she did a six-month course. The actress lost her mother at the age of five and was left with her disciplinarian father, whose disciplinary actions helped shape her into the woman she is today.
Isime won the Miss Valentine International beauty pageant in the year 2009. This was followed closely by her first runners-up position at the Miss Telecoms Nigeria pageant.
The 32 year old actress stressed the value of savoring the experience rather than solely aiming for the final result.
“We tend to want to see the end results before we do anything. We don’t enjoy the process. I’m very intentional about enjoying the process and the journey, with the understanding that one can never truly arrive”.
While speaking of struggles and challenges she faced, Isime also mentioned that some people feel like their struggles are things they are to ashamed of;
“But for me, it’s not. If you go through my Instagram page, you can scroll all the way down. I don’t delete anything because it’s like a memory book for me”.
Isime emphasized the need for a strong foundation, ruling on a straight line between her path and biblical teachings.
“I have been working since I was 17, early retirement is the plan. So I’m doing all my work now, so by the time I am retiring at an age people feel is too early, my portfolio and achievements will speak for themselves”.
“There’s a part of the Bible that says when your foundation is built on Christ, it’s like building on solid rock, and when the rain comes, it stands solid”.
As the Edo state born applauds herself, she stating that the Bible verse stated above, is what she has implement in her life as a whole.
“That’s what I’ve done, I have built my way through life”.
