In a series of successful counter-terrorism operations, Nigerian Army troops deployed in Yobe and Borno states neutralized four terrorists, according to an official statement.
In Yobe State, two terrorists were killed during an operation at a Boko Haram tax collection point in the Ngazargamu area of Gujba Local Government Area. Acting on verified intelligence, troops launched an assault, leading to the elimination of the terrorists and the recovery of weapons, including two AK-47 rifles, one FN rifle, 19 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, five rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, two extra AK-47 magazines, and three mobile phones.
Similarly, in Borno State, along the Gamboru-Logomane road, troops ambushed fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), killing two terrorists and recovering two AK-47 rifles and other materials.
In a separate mission, troops operating in Gaube Village, Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, rescued four kidnapped victims during an intervention in a kidnapping incident in Dafara Village.
Additionally, in Plateau State, four suspected arms suppliers were arrested in two separate operations. On October 17, 2024, troops, working with other security agencies, apprehended a female firearms courier and her accomplice at Barikin Ladi Motor Park.
Intelligence indicated that the suspects were smuggling arms to terrorists in Zamfara State. The operation resulted in the recovery of 505 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition.
In another operation, troops raided the residence of a notorious terrorist in Ambakka Village, located at the Plateau-Nasarawa border, leading to the arrest of a wanted individual, Alhaji Adamu Bajara. Three AK-47 rifles and two rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition were recovered, and the military is continuing efforts to apprehend his accomplices.
The Nigerian Army also reported the recovery of 46 stolen livestock following a response to cattle rustling in Mile 8, Pankshin Local Government Area.

“Similarly, in Borno State, along the Gamboru-Logomane road, troops ambushed ISWAP fighters, killing two terrorists. The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles and sundry items at the scene.”
In the Kuje area of the Federal Capital Territory, the Nigerian Army said troops rescued no fewer than four kidnapped victims.
“In a separate mission, troops deployed to Gaube Village responded to a kidnapping incident in Dafara Village, Kuje Area Council. The troops promptly intervened, engaged the assailants, and successfully extricated four abductees,” the post added.
