D'banj's Surprise Ride

Fresh from unleashing his latest masterpiece, 'The Entertainer', Veteran Afrobeat singer D’banj recently took to public transport in Lagos, adding a touch of excitement to commuter’s exciting day. 


His down-to-earth gesture sparked widespread excitement, captivating fans and fellow commuters alike!

His journey corresponded with the celebration of the one year anniversary of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue-Line, highlighting the city’s evolving infrastructure and D’banj’s unique approach to connecting with his fans.


Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo professionally known as D’banj is a Nigeria singer, songwriter and rapper. The Afrobeat singer is currently tagged as the best in Afrobeat all round.


He is married to Lineo Didi Kilgrow, she is considered an American and a Nigerian.


In 2018, recall that D’banj and his wife suffered a great loss of their son Daniel III, after he drowned in a pool in their residence in Ikoyi, Lagos state.


As he traveled from Leventis bus stop to Marina train station and then to National Theatre station, D’banj received all the enthusiastic admiration from all the  passengers.


The award-winning artist, known for his hit song “Oliver Twist,” took to the streets of Lagos to promote his latest album, ‘The Entertainer’- D’Sequel, in a unique and engaging way.


Passengers greeted the singer with enthusiasm, singing along to his new tracks and dancing in the aisles.


The viral video showed D’banj doing giveaway while posing for cameras with excited commuters and fans. This single act, has since been applauded by fans and netizens all around social media.


  “Yesterday was unforgettable, I took rides with the amazing people of Lagos on the BRT Buses and Lagos blue-line rail, sharing beautiful moments, entertaining, chatting and dancing to my new album. It was also exactly a year ago, since the launch of the Blur-Line and the train still looks brand new”.


  “ Shout out to the @lamataonline team. I’m going to do this again soon for sure! Watch out for me”.


In a touching act of generosity, D’banj covered the transportation costs for his fellow passengers, loading their Cowry Cards with fare. 

A clip captured him dancing with an elderly woman while other passengers sang a song from his new album.
