The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Senator Monday Okpebholo of APC Winner in the just concluded edo Governorship elections.
The three-horse race for the control of Edo State Government House ended on Sunday September 22, 2024 with Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC Candidate clinching the top price.
Okpebholo secured a total of 291,667 votes, defeating his closest rivals, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 247,274 votes, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP), who received 22,763 votes as announced by Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology
The victory returns APC at the reigns of power in Edo State after Governor Godwin Obaseki defected to PDP where he contested his second term and won.
