Controversial crossdresser, Okuneye Idris, famously known as Bobrisky, has been transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex (FCID), Alagbon, Lagos State, where he spent the night in a cell at the police facility.
According to reports, Bobrisky was transferred to the FCID for safekeeping following his arrest by officials from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border as he attempted to leave the country.
Bobrisky reportedly arrived at the FCID on Monday night around the hours of 10pm, after being detained overnight following his arrest on Sunday.
Mayegun Aminat, spokesperson for the FCID in Lagos, confirmed the detention, adding that the FCID Alagbon will get a remand to keep him in custody today.
The NIS had previously described Bobrisky as a person of interest due to recent public concerns.
In a statement released on Monday evening, spokesperson Kenneth Udo confirmed that Bobrisky was intercepted at the Seme border while attempting to exit Nigeria.
“He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.”
The NIS reassured the public of its commitment to professionalism in managing the nation’s borders and ensuring security”, Udo stated.
