Lecce have appointed Marco Giampaolo, 57, as their new head coach on a contract through the end of the season, the Serie A club announced on Monday. The move comes after the club parted ways with Luca Gotti following a string of poor results that left them struggling in the relegation zone.
In the statement released on monday, Lecce said: "The coach has signed an agreement until June 30th, 2025, with automatic renewal in the event of reaching safety."
Following his appointment, U.S Lecce took to their official X handle @OfficialUSLecce to post the statement release.
Meanwhile, Giampaolo, who previously managed AC Milan, was last in charge of Sampdoria in 2022.
