The newly-elected Chairman of the People's Democratic Party PDP, Imo State chapter, Hon Austin Nwachukwu has warned against the formation of parallel structures within the party.
Hon Nwachukwu, a former member of the House of Representatives said under his watch no member will be allowed to set up a parallel structure.
Speaking to our correspondent on Monday in Owerri, Hon Nwachukwu promised to foster an environment of respect, loyalty and accountability in the party.
He pledged commitment to the ideals of the party even as he promised to protect and promote the interest of youths and women in the party.
Hon Nwachukwu who represented Okigwe South Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011 was elected new chairman alongside others at the party's congress held in Owerri on Friday, August 30.

Also elected were Hon Chidi Agbasi (Deputy Chairman); Hon Gerald U Ogoko (Secretary); Mr. Felix Nwosu (Organizing Secretary); Godstime Ozigbo (Treasurer); Ndubueze Egburuaja (Youth Leader); Lolo Edith Nwachi (Women Leader) and Demian Ogu(Auditor).
Others were re Barr Beneth Amakamara (Legal Adviser); Hon Ugorji Onuegbu(Financial Secretary); Lancelot Obiaku (Publicity Secretary); Hon Geofrey Ihentuge (Vice Chairman 1 (Owerri Zone): Hon Carl Nwokoma (Vice Chairman 2 (Orlu Zone); Chief Chuks Ajaelu(Vice Chairman 3 (Okigwe Zone); Lolo Chinyere Onyeise (Assistant Women Leader 1 (Owerri Zone); Chinyere Okoro(Assistant Women Leader 2 (Orlu Zone); Clara Ugha (Assistant Women Leader 3 (Okigwe Zone); Dorathy Ogazi (Assistant Organizing Secretary 1 (Owerri Zone); Finbar Mbanaso (Assistant Organizing Secretary 2 (Orlu Zone); and Obiawuchi Agiriga(Assistant Organizing Secretary 3 (Okigwe Zone).

Recall that the Imo PDP sacked its State Working Committee led by Chief Charles Ugwueke last year and enthroned a caretaker committee chaired by Sir Chidi Dike.
