The Mayor of Obingwa Local Government Area in Abia State, r. Eric Egwuibe, has declared that no principled Abian will support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state in future elections due to their hostile and anti-people policies.
The Labour Party chieftain was responding to comments made by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who, in a widely circulated video, claimed that the APC would take control of the Abia State Government House in 2027.
In a trending video, Kalu stated that Governor Dr. Alex Otti will be the last Labour Party governor of Abia State, predicting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will take over the government house in 2027.
Egwuibe highlighted the significant progress made under Dr. Alex Chioma Otti's leadership, emphasizing the current administration's development achievements in the state. He also urged the Deputy Speaker to focus on crafting effective policies and programs that would benefit the South East, rather than seeking to consolidate power for himself and his political associates.
He reassured the Deputy Speaker that the APC would not secure any seats in Abia in the 2027 elections and advised him to avoid making statements that could ignite political tensions within the state.
"Dr Alex Otti has been chosen by God and the entire people of Abia. It will be an impossible mission for anyone to unseat him come 2027", He said.

The Local Government boss also criticized the current APC policies, describing them as detrimental to Nigerians and challenging that no discerning Abian would want to return to such conditions. He assured that there is no brewing power struggle in Abia as the 2027 elections approach and expressed strong confidence that the Labour Party will secure re-election.
