Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has stirred social media with his remarks during a TikTok live stream, where he addressed claims that rapper Olamide was solely responsible for his rise to fame. Portable gained widespread recognition in 2021 after Olamide featured on his hit single Zazu Zeh, but he insists his fame predated the collaboration.
"Is it Olamide that posted me and got me famous? He's my helper, yes, but I was already famous before he helped me," Portable stated. While acknowledging Olamide's support, he questioned the rapper’s ongoing involvement in his career, saying, "Since that time that Olamide helped me, has he ever posted me on his story?"
The singer also credited Tunde Ednut and Skepta for significant contributions to his career and alleged that industry insiders had blacklisted him due to his outspoken nature. "The reason nobody wants to mingle with me anymore is because they know I know my rights. I'm a superstar," he declared.
His comments sparked a wave of criticism online, with many accusing him of being ungrateful to Olamide, who helped catapult him to the limelight.
