Access Bank has informed its customers of a temporary service shutdown to facilitate a system upgrade aimed at improving service delivery.
In an email sent on Tuesday, October 7, 2024, the bank announced that the upgrade will be carried out in phases, starting from 10:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, and concluding at 6:30 AM on Sunday, October 13.
During this period, customers may experience temporary disruptions when using the Access More app, Internet Banking, and ATMs. However, the bank assured customers that card transactions will remain functional, and the *901# USSD service will still be available for transfers, airtime and data purchases, and bill payments.
The statement read: “Dear Valued Customer, in line with our continuous drive to better serve you, we are embarking on a comprehensive system upgrade to optimise our services. This exercise will begin on Saturday, October 12 at 10:00 PM and will conclude on Sunday, October 13 at 6:30 AM (West African Time)."
Access Bank also promised that all services will be fully restored upon completion of the upgrade and committed to keeping customers informed about future phases of the upgrade.
Meanwhile, Zenith Bank Plc has assured its customers of improved service following recent infrastructure upgrades. In a statement, the bank acknowledged the recent service disruptions on its e-channels, attributing them to essential IT maintenance.
Zenith Bank stated that significant progress has been made and emphasised its commitment to providing 100% service availability. The bank apologised for any inconvenience caused during the upgrade process, noting that the enhancements were necessary to improve service quality.
“We sincerely apologise for the recent service disruptions on our banking channels. These were due to an IT upgrade aimed at enhancing the quality of our services. We have made significant progress and you can now conveniently perform transactions using Zenith Bank’s services,” the statement concluded.
