Actress Chika Ike Denies Ned Nwoko Paternity Rumors

Nollywood actress Chika Ike has firmly denied rumors linking her pregnancy to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, calling the claims “false and baseless.”

Speculations circulated widely on social media, suggesting that the 64-year-old senator was the father of her unborn child and planned to make her his seventh wife. The rumors intensified after Chika announced her pregnancy on the10th of February 2025, with further buzz generated when Regina Daniels, Nwoko’s wife, briefly deactivated her Instagram account.

Addressing the controversy on Wednesday February 19, 2025, Chika Ike dismissed the allegations while sharing additional baby bump photos. In a strongly worded Instagram post, she stated;

“False! False! False! There have been many lies peddled about me over the years, but I ignored them. However, this is different. This involves my child,” She clarified, further insisting that Ned Nwoko is not the father of her baby and reiterated her stance against polygamy.

“I’m not going to be anyone’s seventh wife. Polygamy isn’t for me,” she declared.

Chika further pointed out that despite being pregnant for months, the public remained unaware until her recent announcement.

“Now you think you’ll know who the father is? Very laughable! Keep guessing and coming up with false news,” she added, brushing off the speculation.

The award-winning actress emphasized her preference for privacy, explaining that she chose to respond this time because the rumors involved her unborn child.

“You all don’t know anything about me because you can’t, unless I choose to share. I’m that private,” she stated.

Chika further noted that while she usually ignores gossip associated with her celebrity status, she felt compelled to protect her child from misinformation.

“My privacy is my peace, and no one can unsettle me. I’m simply enjoying the joy of my pregnancy, and that’s what matters most to me right now,” she concluded.

Senator Ned Nwoko also addressed the rumors in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter). His media team described the claims as “false and wicked,” dismissing them as malicious speculation.

“We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless,” the statement read.

Nwoko, who recently switched from the PDP to the APC, further denied making any comments about Nigerian singer Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia’s reported marital issues.

“As a public figure married to an actress, I’m no stranger to fabricated stories. However, I urge journalists to verify information before publishing,” Nwoko said, highlighting the need for responsible reporting.

This isn’t the first time Chika Ike has been linked to Ned Nwoko. In 2020, rumors suggested she was set to become his wife, which she swiftly denied. Known for guarding her personal life, Chika was previously married to Tony Eberiri in 2006. The marriage ended in 2013, with Chika citing domestic violence as the reason for the divorce.

Despite her past experiences, Chika has expressed positive views on marriage. In a 2016 interview, she shared her belief in love and her hope to find it again. Currently, she remains focused on her pregnancy and upcoming motherhood, choosing to rise above public speculation.

Chika Ike, who began her acting career in 2005 with Sweet Love, has starred in notable films like Paradise and Mirror of Beauty (2007). In 2014, she launched her own production company, Chika Ike Production, further cementing her influence in Nollywood
