Canadian-Nigerian Woman threatens Yoruba and Benin people

Canada-based Nigerian woman, Amaka Patience Sunnberger, who made threatening remarks about the Edo and Yoruba Natives has refuted the possibility of her arrest or deportation after the House of Representatives in Nigeria wrote to the Canadian government to prosecute her for inciting violence and genocide against Yoruba and Benin people.

The said Lady in a viral video clip posted on X on Thursday, 29 August 2024, boastfully cited her Canadian citizenship as protection, emphasizing that Canada’s legal system does not function like Nigeria’s, where anyone could be arrested without concrete reasons.

She said, “Somebody just send me message, say them arrest me, say them wan deport me, with passport? I be Canada pikin.

“See am now, I dey house, why I go dey lie?a

Recall that a video went viral on Tuesday, which showed her making threatening and indicting statements against Yoruba and Benin indigenes during a virtual meeting on TikTok.

The woman in the video while speaking in Pidgin English, said, “Record me very well; it’s time to start poisoning the Yoruba and the Benin. Put poison in all your food at work. Put poison in your water, so that you all die one by one.”

Sunnberger who claimed to be a resident of Ontario, Canada, swore to harm Yoruba or Benin individuals she encounters.

Her statement resulted in outrage among Nigerians and by extension prompted the House of Representatives to request her prosecution.

Earlier, the House of Representatives wrote to the Canadian government, urging the officials to scrutinize and prosecute Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a Nigerian residing in Canada, for her inciting comments, which it said violated international and Canadian laws.

The federal lawmakers in a letter signed by Biodun Omoleye and Tochukwu Chinedu Okere, expressed worry over Sunnberger’s seditious statements, which according to them was a direct threat to the lives and safety of millions of Nigerians.
