Dangote Refinery to Supply 25 million Litres of Petrol Daily

The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has presented the first sample of Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol from the Dangote Refinery located at Ibeju, Lekki Lagos State.

The Dangote boss  made this announcement on Tuesday, 03 September, 2024 in a broadcast where the Refinery is Located.

He said “I would like to salute the people of Nigeria and the government of President Bola Tinubu for giving us the platform for growth, development, and prosperity. I also want to thank him personally for creating the idea of the Naira for crude. Doing that will give Naira stability.

“As we have this refinery working, it will show the true consumption of Nigeria; we can track every loaded truck and ship,”,

While reacting on the production, Dangote noted that the refinery will meet the demands of not only Nigerians but also sub-Saharan Africa.

Dangote Explains Why Petrol From the Dangote Refinery Looks Clearer

Aliko Dangote also explained why the first sample of Premium Motor Spirit,(petrol) from his refinery seemed clearer than the petrol currently in circulation within the country.

He explained that clearer petrol is more environmentally friendly and will also help reduce environmental hazards related to polluted petroleum products.

According to him, the new petrol would also protect engines from damage caused by the unclear petrol in circulation.

He said, “This is the sample of the petrol. You see it as a different colour but that is the real deal. You are now going to have a good and real product.”

“I am sure Nigerians have not seen this colour of diesel before,” Dangote stated. “This is called Euro-5 diesel. It contains less than 10 parts per million (PPM) of sulfur. This will help vehicles, engines, and generators last longer.” “The health of the people and the environment will not be compromised. This is the real deal.”

Dangote Refinery Will Supply 25 million Litres of Petrol Daily

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) says the Dangote oil refinery will supply 25 million litres of petrol to the Nigerian market daily.

The regulatory body disclosed this on Tuesday, 03 September, adding that this will rise to 30 million litres from September.

The NMDPRA in a short statement, said it met with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited to agree on local crude supply to the refinery.

“At the NMDPRA headquarters in Abuja, NNPCL reached an agreement to commence crude oil sale and supply to Dangote Refinery in local currency.

“The refinery is now poised to supply an initial 25 million litres of PMS into the domestic market this September. And will subsequently increase this amount to 30 million litres daily from October 2024,” the NMDPRA said on its X.com page.
