Double Tragedy as Patoranking Mourns Sister And Husband

Popular Afrobeat artist, Patoranking, is still grieving the loss of his younger sister, Chioma, and her husband, George.

Patoranking, recently shared heartwarming photos and videos of his daughter, Wilmer, on Instagram, taken during a trip to Paris, France. As Wilmer celebrated her 6th birthday, Singer showered her with love and prayers, finding joy in this precious moment amidst his pain."

Tragedy struck shortly after the joyful celebration, as news broke of the devastating loss following a gas explosion which occurred at their residence.

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, professionally know as Patoranking, Nigerian Afrobeat reggae- dancehall singer and songwriter was born and raised in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, where he grew up in a one room apartment with his parents and siblings.

Before going into music, he was formerly a street-jam and carnival dancer.

Recall that on his sisters wedding day, the singer after performing a few of his songs, also went ahead and gifted his sister and her husband a car as their wedding gift, and this gesture and act of love, sparked joy amongst friends and family members there present.

Patoranking out of the benevolence of his heart, has in many ways, touched lives. Severally, there have been news of the singer, doing giveaways , giving a helping hand to the needy and the poor. A while back, it was heard that the ‘Abule’ crooner recently constructed a stadium in the Ebute Metta community where he grew up in Lagos.

Whilst sharing the clip of the said stadium on his Instagram page, the singer explained that the sole purpose of his action was to unite and re-unite the community.

While expressing his love for the community, the father of two daughters, stated that he decided to give back to the place that helped shape his early years of life.

The shocking and devastating devastating incident occurred a day after the couples' house opening.

However, Chioma’s demise was announced shortly after the explosion, while her husband who initially survived and was taken to the hospital, but sadly died on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

As at the time the tragic incident occurred, their 3year old child was said to have been with his grandmother, hence the exemption to the incident.
