Edo Election 2024: Obaseki Loses LG to APC

Governor Godwin Obaseki's home base, Oredo Local Government Area, has reportedly fallen to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo State governorship election results announced by the collation officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


The result declared by the commission on Sunday, 22 September, 2024 in Benin City, the state capital, shows the candidate of the APC, Senator Monday Okpebholo, polled a total of 30,780 votes in the LG, while Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party secured 24,938 votes.


Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party polled 5389 votes.
