Governor Fubara Vows to Triumph Amid Political Turmoil

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured his supporters that victory is inevitable. Speaking during the commissioning of the newly completed Government House Staff Quarters at Forces Avenue in Port Harcourt on Monday, the governor expressed unwavering confidence in overcoming current hurdles.

Addressing a crowd that included former council chairmen, Governor Fubara emphasized that there was no reason for concern, despite ongoing political uncertainties in the state. In a show of resolve, he opened his speech with a poignant passage from the Bible, Philippians 3:18-19, reflecting on faith and the perseverance required in challenging times.

“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things,” Fubara read, setting the tone for a speech rooted in his belief in both spiritual and political resilience.

He declared, “Despite everything, victory is sure,” stressing that the battle is not just about securing power but about standing for truth and fighting with integrity. According to Fubara, the era of political deception in Rivers State is over, and the time has come for the people of the state to reclaim their future. His declaration resonated with the audience, signaling that the state's political landscape was on the verge of transformation.

While reaffirming his commitment to peace, the governor indicated that when the time comes, the necessary decisions will be made in the best interest of Rivers State. “I am not afraid of anything. The worst that can happen is for me to leave office,” Fubara said, a statement that underscored his unshakable resolve to adhere to his principles, regardless of potential personal or political costs.

Governor Fubara also addressed the youth, assuring them that they would receive clear guidance when the time was right. His message to the younger generation was one of hope and direction, encouraging them to stay committed to the state's cause and trust in the leadership's vision.

In reaction to the Supreme Court's ruling, which nullified the local government elections and ordered the Martin Amaewhule-led group to resume sitting, Governor Fubara remained optimistic. He emphasized that the future held more promise than the past, signaling that Rivers State was headed for brighter days.

Fubara pledged to complete his tenure with honor and integrity, ensuring that his decisions would be defensible and transparent. He also stressed the importance of countering political propaganda with visible evidence of purposeful governance. The ongoing inauguration of various state projects, he said, was a testament to his administration’s commitment to progress and development.

As he inaugurated the newly commissioned Government House Staff Quarters, Governor Fubara emphasized that the project was designed to improve the working conditions and efficiency of public servants. The structure, he noted, would enhance productivity and reinforce the state government’s dedication to providing its workers with an environment conducive to effective service delivery.
