Speaking during the commissioning of the newly completed Government House Staff Quarters at Forces Avenue in Port Harcourt on Monday, the governor expressed unwavering confidence in overcoming current hurdles.
Addressing a crowd that included former council chairmen, Governor Fubara emphasized that there was no reason for concern, despite ongoing political uncertainties in the state. In a show of resolve, he opened his speech with a poignant passage from the Bible, Philippians 3:18-19, reflecting on faith and the perseverance required in challenging times.
“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things,” Fubara read, setting the tone for a speech rooted in his belief in both spiritual and political resilience.
He declared, “Despite everything, victory is sure,” stressing that the battle is not just about securing power but about standing for truth and fighting with integrity. According to Fubara, the era of political deception in Rivers State is over, and the time has come for the people of the state to reclaim their future. While reaffirming his commitment to peace, the governor indicated that when the time comes, the necessary decisions will be made in the best interest of Rivers State. “I am not afraid of anything.
