Lenovo Signs As Official Technology Partner For FIFA

International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), has awarded Chinese multinational computer manufacturing company Lenovo, as the Official FIFA Technology Partner for the FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 respectively.


In addition to Lenovo’s sponsorship will be the integration of Artificial Intelligence, which promises to elevate the experience for both fans and broadcasters.


This is contained in a statement released today Tuesday, 16th of October, 2024, International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).


On their part, Lenovo announced its role in providing cutting-edge devices and data infrastructure to FIFA, aimed towards enhancing fans and participants engagement and the quality of event broadcasts during FIFA events.


Lenovo company will now join the likes of Coca-Cola, Visa, Hyundai-Kia, Qatar Airways, Adidas, and Aramco as global partners of the football organization, which is the highest level of sponsorship offered by FIFA.


The company products, services, and solutions which includes power AI, iconic ThinkPad laptops, tablets, Motorola mobile phones, servers and its emerging suite of innovations will both leverage and be integrated into the 2026 and 2027 tournaments.


In his remarks, FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that : “At FIFA, we are committed to growing the game globally and making football accessible for all—and we are excited to welcome Lenovo to our journey and to work with them to implement technologies, innovations, and programmes that spread our sport’’


He also added that the Data and technology innovation’s combined, will aid the global football association in understanding its fans better at the forthcoming world competitions.


“Data and technology combined help us to understand fans better, and we will use this to create unparalleled and unforgettable fan experiences at the FIFA World Cup 2026 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027’’ he said.

He further said that : “In Lenovo, we have a partner who will support us as we evolve and innovate, investing in digital technology and artificial intelligence for future generations”.


Lenovo said that its technology will enhance and improve on fan experiences in stadiums and global broadcasts, power advanced analytics, and democratize data access for football-playing nations globally.

According to reports, Hisense, before now was the Official Sponsor of the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups in Russia and Qatar, respectively.
