Vice President Kashim Shettima has officially handed over the released minors to their State Governors.
The event took place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja Auditorium.
The Vice President appreciated President Tinubu for his show of compassion and kindness.
The governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, received the freed minors from his State, while Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State also received those from his State.
Recall that four minors, out of the 76 individuals charged by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for taking part in the protest, fainted before their arraignment in court last Friday.
The teenagers, aged between 14 to17, appeared to be ill and malnourished, collapsing as they were brought in for their court appearance.
However, following the widespread public outcry regarding the arraignment of the minors, the Attorney-General of the Federation instructed the police to forward the case file to his office for examination.
