NSCDC Assures Commitment To End Disputes In Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC and the Public Complaints Commission, PCC, have openly made known their commitment to fully address all disputes and execution of resolutions in Anambra State.


According to them, this is coming as a result of their already existing relationship with the state as regarding conflict relating matters.


This information came in on Wednesday 20th of November 2024 during a meeting between the Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State Command, Maku Olatunde and the newly appointed Honourable Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Anambra State, Hon. Emmanuel Okechukwu Muoka, alongside their Management team at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters Awka, the state capital.


While applauding the Honourable Federal Commissioner and his team for the courtesy visit, he affirmed his full commitment towards assisting the Commission in carrying out its functions and achieving it's goals and objectives in the state.


He further promised to work hand in hand with the Nigerian Ombudsman in disputes and conflict resolution coupled with the performance of their role in tackling complaints levelled to them by aggrieved citizens or residents in Anambra State against social injustice.


In his words he said : "We value public opinion on what we do as Civil defenders, in most cases where there are wrong narratives on our activities and actions by the populace or media, the Public Complaints Commission consistently provided a supportive presence for us”


On his part, the Honourable Federal Commissioner, Public Complaint Commission, Anambra State; Emmanuel Muoka revealed that, the purpose of the visit was to gather partnership in the course of carrying out the commission’s responsibilities and tasks and handling from aggrevied person(s) who had suffered any form of administrative injustice.


The National State and Local Government Assets and Infrastructure, The Federal Commissioner highlighted on the roles and functions of Public Complaints Commission, while calling on all Anambra residents to embrace the use of alternative Dispute Resolution in resolving dispute and conflict.


Speaking further, he promised to solidify collaboration with the NSCDC in handling complaints from aggrieved person (s) adding that, he will speedily treat, and arrive at the point of addressing on any complaints brought to their office.


He further pointed out that, enforcing a strong synergy between two parties, the Commission aims through quick action to alleviate suffering, calm tensions, and provide a sense of justice to those affected by the troubles, thereby fostering an environment with unity and harmony.


The highpoint of the visit was when both parties agencies agreed to foster synergy in administering and delivery of quality services to the general Public.
