NYSC Releases Batch B Stream II Corps Members Call up Letters

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the release of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 call-up letters for prospective corps members.

NYSC revealed this on its official X handle on Monday, 26 August, 2024.

According to the Corps, the orientation camp for the stream is to commence on August 28, 2024 and closes on September 17, 2024.

The post read, “some prospective corps members posted to Lagos will have orientation in Ogun and Osun.

“While some of those posted to Zamfara will have in Kebbi and Sokoto etc”

Prospective corps members have however been advised to print and sign an addendum, which will be submitted during registration at the orientation camp.

In July, stream 1 call up letters were released.

Orientation camp was held between Wednesday, 26th and Monday, 1st July, 2024 while the swearing-in ceremony was held on Tuesday 2nd July, 2024.

In a related development, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Major General Yusha’u Ahmed, has announced the rescue of all eight prospective corps members kidnapped along Funtua-Gusua Road of Zamfara State since August 17, 2023.

NYSC DG revealed this at a press briefing in Abuja while also commending the security agencies who aided the rescue. Ahmed also reiterated the administration’s commitment to the welfare and security of the corps members.

“We continue to advice our prospective corps members and those who are serving corps members to desist from travelling at night because of the risk attached to it,” Major General Ahmed said.

According to him, some of the victims were rescued since 2023 while the last victim was rescued on Thursday August 21, 2024.

He asserted that no ransom was paid for any of the victims and further commended security agencies for their success of the rescue.

Meanwhile, it was learned that no major arrest has been made but security agencies said the leader of the gang was killed and that victims are currently undergoing medical rehabilitation.

Recall that the corps members who were observing their mandatory one year service  were abducted while travelling from Uyo, Akwa Ibom, to Sokoto State in an Akwa Ibom Transport Company (AKTC) to partake in the orientation camp.

Their rescue has been reported to coincide with that of the rescue of 20 medical students who were kidnapped in Benue State last week.
