Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has announced plans to establish a higher education institution in Opobo Town, with the goal of fostering sustainable economic growth in the area. The Governor made this commitment during the inauguration of the newly constructed 7-kilometer Opobo Town Ring Road, which also includes three strategically placed crossing bridges. The event took place on Monday, December 16, 2024, in the Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area.
Governor Fubara highlighted that the establishment of the university would be a cornerstone of the region's long-term development strategy.
