Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has openly called out social media personality Verydarkman, accusing him of paying N2 million to fabricate an AI-generated voice note falsely attributed to media personality Nedu Wazobia.
The controversy began when Verydarkman released an audio clip purportedly featuring Nedu Wazobia’s voice, in which he allegedly boasted about having friends involved in cybercrime (Yahoo) and drug-related activities. The recording quickly gained attention, with many questioning its authenticity.
In response, Verydarkman took the matter further by submitting official petitions to three different embassies, seemingly in an attempt to escalate the allegations against Nedu. However, Nedu Wazobia has strongly denied any connection to the statements in the audio, distancing himself from any criminal activity.
Uche Maduagwu, known for his outspoken nature, took to Instagram to slam Verydarkman, claiming that the entire situation was a deliberate attempt to tarnish Nedu’s reputation. He alleged that Verydarkman not only orchestrated the AI-generated voice note but also paid a significant amount of N2 million to create it.
Expressing his outrage, Maduagwu criticized Verydarkman’s motives, accusing him of engaging in clout-chasing tactics at the expense of others. He did not hold back in his condemnation, questioning the influencer’s integrity and upbringing.
“So you paid someone N2 million to create an AI voice recording about Nedu just to ruin his image? Now it’s clear that your mama no train you well. Why are you doing this? All because you want to chase clout,” Maduagwu stated.
He further referenced a past statement by former Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari, suggesting that this situation validated Buhari’s controversial claim that Nigerian youths are lazy.
The unfolding drama has sparked widespread debate online, with many weighing in on the authenticity of the audio recording and the ethics of using AI technology to manipulate narratives. The allegations, if proven true, raise concerns about the potential dangers of AI-generated misinformation and its impact on individual reputations.
While Verydarkman has not publicly responded to Maduagwu’s accusations, the controversy continues to generate reactions across social media platforms. Many are calling for a thorough investigation into the matter to determine whether the audio was indeed AI-generated and whether any legal consequences should follow.
At the heart of this controversy is the broader issue of digital ethics and accountability. With the rise of AI technology, it has become increasingly easy to create fake audio and video recordings that can mislead the public. This case serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of misinformation and the need for stricter measures to verify digital content before spreading it.
As the situation develops, all eyes remain on the key player’s Verydarkman, Nedu Wazobia, and Uche Maduagwu to see how they navigate the fallout from these serious allegations.
