Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has openly criticized Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje for allowing controversial couple Yul Edochie and Judy Austin to ascend the altar in his church. This incident, which occurred during Odumeje’s birthday celebration, has sparked significant public debate.
A video surfaced online showing Yul and Judy being warmly welcomed in the church. Yul was seen addressing the congregation, promoting himself and his wife. However, Rita Edochie expressed her dismay at what transpired, labeling the act as a "grave abomination." She argued that the altar is a sacred space meant for truth and holiness, not for individuals she described as "spiritually dirty."
In a lengthy social media post, Rita did not mince words as she called out Prophet Odumeje, whom she referred to as her "spiritual father." She expressed disappointment that he permitted the couple, particularly Judy Austin, to step onto the altar. Rita also criticized the congregation for celebrating Judy instead of condemning her actions, stating that their behavior further desecrated the holy ground.
