The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has expressed its gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for granting the state an additional ministerial position.
In a recent cabinet reshuffle, the President nominated former Minister for Police Affairs, Muhammad Dingyadi, as the Minister of State for Labour and reassigned Muhammad Goronyo from the Ministry of State for Water Resources to the Ministry of Works.
During a press conference in his office on Friday, APC Chairman Isa Sadiq Achida stated that this decision reflects the President’s appreciation for those who contributed to the party's electoral success.
Achida said: “It is also an indication of his confidence in the leadership qualities of our respected leader, Senator Aliyu Wamakko as well as our resourceful, courageous and hardworking Governor, who is positively transforming and repositioning Sokoto State.
“The people of Sokoto State, particularly members of our great party, the APC, are confident that the programmes and policies of the Federal Government under the able leadership of Mr President will take Nigeria to greater heights.
“The construction of the over 1,000 kilometers Sokoto – Badagry superhighway, for which the ground breaking was held on Thursday is aimed at further connecting our nation, enhancing our infrastructure and creating more opportunities for our people,” he said.
Furthermore, the chairman revealed that the federal government is actively engaged in several development projects within the state., “including the reconstruction of Sokoto – Gusau – Zaria Road and numerous Federal Housing projects among others.”
According to him, the appointment of two ministers from the state has not only “speak volumes about the high esteem to which the President holds the state, but also put shame to the party’s detractors.”
Additionally, the party also expressed its unwavering support for Tinubu by passing a vote of confidence in him.
