There is Judicious use of Abia Resources - Gov. Otti

The Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, Friday, reiterated his administration's commitment to transparency and integrity in governance, vowing that no Abia resources will be misappropriated under his leadership.

Speaking at the 4th Edition of the Pastors' Kids Association Convention 2024, with the theme, "Advancing the Gospel in a Digital Era", Governor Otti emphasized that his administration is dedicated to responsible management of the state's resources and will not tolerate corruption or stealing.

He attributed the criticism from the opposition to the fact that they can no longer exploit the state's resources, adding that his administration remains focused on its goals despite the noise.

According to the Governor, his administration is determined to reposition the state, utilizing its resources judiciously.

He challenged Christians to lead by example, stressing that leaders must embody the values they preach.

The Governor also encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in their identity and values instilled by their parents, shunning societal vices that are becoming prevalent.

Earlier, the President of the Eastern Nigerian Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Bassey Udoh, emphasized the importance of total member involvement in spreading the Gospel of Christ in the digital age.

Pastor Udoh disclosed that the convention is aimed at discussing ways to leverage digital evangelism in advancing the message of Christ and as well as, reaching vast audiences simultaneously.

He said in today's fast-paced, technology-driven world, digital advancements are transforming every aspect of our lives, from how we connect with others to how we learn and grow spiritually.

"As Christians, it's essential that we not only adapt to these changes but also harness their potential to spread the message of Christ and expand God's Kingdom. The strategic use of technology to advance the Gospel is no longer a luxury, but a necessity for the church's mission in the 21st century. By embracing innovative approaches and digital tools, we can more effectively share the Good News, disciple believers, and fulfill the Great Commission in a rapidly changing world".

It could be recalled that Governor Alex Otti on assumption of office had instituted a panel of inquiry for the recovery of looted state properties, with a firm stance of not sparing anyone from previous administrations involved in milking the state dry.

So far, some vehicles from past Governor 's Aides have been recovered, as well as, some landed properties, including the state Secretariat of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has also been confiscated.
