Tinubu, Dangote to Attend 2024 Nig Diaspora Investment Summit

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has announced that President Bola Tinubu and prominent business magnate, Aliko Dangote, will attend the 2024 Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit.

The event is scheduled to take place from November 5-7, 2024, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

During a press briefing held in Abuja on Thursday, October 17, 2025, Dabiri-Erewa revealed that the summit is expected to attract over 2,000 participants, both physically and virtually, reflecting its growing importance in facilitating diaspora contributions to Nigeria's economic development.

"We are honoured to confirm that His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, will be our Special Guest of Honour at the summit," Dabiri-Erewa stated. "This underscores the critical role of the Nigerian diaspora in the President's economic agenda. The presence of such a high-level delegation speaks to the importance of this event for Nigeria’s future."

Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man and a key figure in global business, is slated to be the keynote speaker on the opening day of the summit. "Having a business leader of Aliko Dangote's stature will allow us to tap into his vast experience and success in the Nigerian business landscape. His insights will be invaluable in guiding diaspora investments and fostering sustainable economic growth," she added.

This year's summit will center on pivotal sectors that are crucial to Nigeria's development, including finance, information and communication technology (ICT), fintech, creative industries, sports, entertainment, agribusiness, healthcare, education, real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing, and mining.

Dabiri-Erewa expressed confidence that the 2024 edition will surpass previous years in terms of outcomes, noting that past summits had already yielded significant investments. "This year promises to be exceptional, offering participants opportunities to engage in insightful discussions, establish meaningful connections, and explore actionable strategies to harness the economic potential of the Nigerian diaspora."

As preparations continue, the NiDCOM chair encouraged potential participants to take advantage of the summit's expansive platform, designed to foster dialogue, collaboration, and innovation aimed at accelerating Nigeria’s economic transformation.

Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Enacted by the National Assembly for the Federal republic of Nigeria aims to provide for the engagement of Nigerians in Diaspora in the policies, projects and participation in the development of Nigeria and for the purpose of utilising the human capital and material resources of Nigerians in Diaspora towards the overall socio-economic, cultural and political development of Nigeria and for related matters.
