Ex-Miss Switzerland Finalist Brutally Murdered by Husband

Tragedy struck in Basel, Switzerland, where a former Miss Switzerland finalist, Kristina Joksimovic, was allegedly brutally murdered and dismembered by her husband.

According to Reports, the 38-year-old model and mother of two was found dead in February in Binningen, near Basel. The investigation revealed a gruesome scene, with Kristina's body dismembered using a jigsaw and garden shears, and her remains allegedly pureed in a blender.

It was learnt that Kristina's husband, identified only as Thomas, was arrested and confessed to the crime. However, his claim of self-defense was contradicted by a medical-forensic report. He reportedly told investigators that he killed his wife "in a panic" as she approached him with a knife - claiming it was an act of self-defence.

The couple had been married since 2017 and lived in an affluent area of Basel. Just four weeks before her death, Kristina had posted pictures of a romantic getaway on her Instagram account, not knowing the horror that was to come.

The investigation has revealed "concrete indications of mental illness" underlying the case. The Federal Court in Lausanne rejected Thomas's appeal for release from custody. The court's verdict stated that Thomas confessed to strangling his wife, contradicting his initial claim of self-defense.

The autopsy report revealed that Kristina was strangled before being dismembered in the laundry room with a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears. Her body parts were then chopped up with a hand blender and dissolved in a chemical solution. The brutality of the crime has shocked the community, and the case continues to unfold.

Kristina's tragic death has left behind two young children and a community in mourning. The case serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic violence and the importance of seeking help when needed. As the investigation continues, the community waits for justice for Kristina and her family.

The gruesome nature of the incident came to light as it was revealed that Joksimovic's body was allegedly dismembered in the couple’s laundry room using a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears.

Cops said Thomas showed a "lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife" and had made efforts to cover up her death.

The ongoing investigation also concluded there were "concrete indications of mental illness" behind the killing.
