Valencia striker Rafa Mir has denied allegations of sexual assault, following his release from custody on Thursday, where he remains under investigation.
He has called for respect for his presumption of innocence.
Mir was taken into custody by the Spanish Guardia Civil after the club reported the alleged sexual assaults on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old was arrested on Monday after a woman filed a complaint, and he testified before a judge on Wednesday.
Meanwhile Guardia Civil spokesperson earlier confirmed that the LaLiga player had been detained in Valencia for alleged sexual assault against one woman but chose to not disclose the name.
Valencia said in a statement that they were aware of the arrest and that they were going to cooperate with the justice system.
According to reports, the judge who ordered his conditional release will be leading an investigation to establish whether there is enough evidence for Mir to stand trial or if the case should be dropped.
Mir's lawyer Jaime Campaner said in a statement: "Rafa Mir categorically denies the accusations against him. The criminal proceedings will clarify the events and will show that the accusation does not stand up."
However, the court also stated that it was investigating Mir for an alleged crime of sexual assault involving intercourse.
Additionally, the Valencia striker is required to make regular court appearances and is prohibited from leaving the country during the investigation.
The 27-year-old joined Valencia on loan, following stints with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sevilla.
According to reports from the club, Mir has been granted time off on Thursday and Friday, with the possibility of resuming training on Monday.
