The Abia State Government has announced a new date for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for teachers' recruitment, which was initially set to commence on March 6th and 7th, 2025. The examination has now been rescheduled to March 18th and 19th, 2025.
This update was disclosed in an official statement issued on Wednesday night by the Recruitment Committee under the Office of the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.
The committee urged all shortlisted candidates to take note of the revised dates and adequately prepare for the test.
According to government sources, the postponement was necessitated by logistical challenges and the need to ensure a more organized and seamless examination process.
The state government reassured candidates that the delay is aimed at enhancing the credibility and efficiency of the recruitment exercise.
Candidates are advised to visit the official Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education recruitment portal (www.mobse-abiastategov.ng) for further details.
Additionally, those who have misplaced their User ID or Password can retrieve them using the ‘Forgot ID’ or ‘Forgot Password’ feature available on the portal.
Furthermore, the Recruitment Committee instructed all shortlisted candidates to print their photo cards, which contain essential details such as the CBT center, batch, and allotted time for the examination. Candidates are urged to have this document ready to avoid any last-minute inconveniences.
The delay has generated mixed reactions among applicants. While some welcomed the rescheduling as an opportunity for better preparation, others expressed concerns over the uncertainty and disruptions caused by the postponement. Some candidates who had already made travel arrangements for the initial dates have called on the government to improve communication regarding such changes in the future.
The Ministry also reassured candidates and the general public that its helplines remain open for any inquiries, complaints, or assistance required during the recruitment process.
Applicants are encouraged to adhere to the provided guidelines and remain patient to ensure a seamless and efficient selection process.
The Abia State Government emphasized its commitment to conducting a transparent and merit-based recruitment exercise, ensuring that only qualified candidates are selected to strengthen the state’s education sector. Government officials reiterated that efforts are being made to ensure that the new examination dates remain fixed and that no further disruptions occur, urging candidates to stay updated via official communication channels.
