Adeyanju Confirms Missing Speed Darlington in Police Custody

Deji Adeyanju , a prominent Nigerian activist and lawyer has just revealed that Speed Darlington, a popular singer and social media personality, is actually being held by the Nigerian Police Force in Abuja, contrary to reports that he was missing.

It turns out Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, was arrested in Lagos last Friday and then transferred to Abuja, where he's been in detention ever since.

Adeyanju broke the news on his X handle yesterday, October 7, 2024, shedding light on the situation. This update comes as a relief to fans and followers who were worried about Speed Darlington's whereabouts.

It's interesting to note that there are also some rumors circulating about Burna Boy's alleged involvement in Speed Darlington's arrest, but that's a whole different story

Adeyanju did not give further information on the petition by Burna Boy.

He wrote, “We just spent the last 30mins with Speed Darlington and he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos Friday last week, moved around and eventually brought to Abuja and has been in detention since then.

In a recent post, social media influencer, Constance Nwogu, alerted fans and netizens about the alleged disappearance of Speed Darlington.

In a Monday social media message shared, Nwogu expressed worry over the artist’s whereabouts, noting that he has been unreachable for three days.

“It has come to our notice that our man Speeddarlington (Akpi) has been missing for days now (three days now),” Nwogu wrote via her Instagram page.

Nwogu noted that Speed Darlington's social media page has been inactive for three days, unusual for the frequently posting artist.

“Up till now, no one has heard from him. We have all tried to reach him, but to no avail,” she added, emphasising the urgency of the situation.

While there is no concrete evidence for Speed Darlington’s sudden disappearance, Nwogu is of the opinion that it “could possibly be as a result of a video he must have made before now.”

The video showed Speed Darlington expressing skepticism about Burna Boy's Grammy win and alleging a connection between Burna Boy and Sean Combs (P Diddy), fueling speculation.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday via X, Burna Boy wrote, “Who’s missing?”

This is coming after speed Darlington’s reported missing.

However, there are no insinuations linking Burna's post to Darlington Speed's disappearance.

Following her post, Nwogwu urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating the missing entertainer.

“Please, this is important. If there is any information anybody has concerning this, please reach out to me or do not hesitate to put it out, please,” she added.

“We would as well keep everyone posted if we get something. Thank you very much,” Nwogu said.

Meanwhile, Adeyanju's revelation has sparked concerns among Speed Darlington's fans and supporters, who demand transparency regarding his detention.
