Stakeholders of the Renewed Hope Family in Rivers State are appealing to President Bola Tinubu and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Abdullahi Ganduje not to allow the party in Rivers State to be hijacked by the former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and the re-instated Chairman of the party in the state Emeka Beke.
The Stakeholders of the Renewed Hope Family in the state, comprising members of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard and a coalition of pro-Tinubu support Groups made the appeal in an open letter to President Bola Tinubu.
The groups accused the former Governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi and Emeka Beke of working against the president in the 2023 general election.
They also said that the anti-party activities of Rotimi Amaechi and Emeka Beke resulted in their indefinite suspension from the party.
They further maintained that Rotimi Amaechi and Emeka Beke are still demonstrating unrepentant spirits against the president and their party which they might use to undermine their position in the 2027 general elections.
The groups in the letter also said they are comfortable with Tony Okocha's leadership and are well-positioned to triple their votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
They equally thanked the president for appointing their key political leaders, Nyesom Wike and Tony Okocha, who brokered the Rainbow Coalition and coasted them to presidential victory in 2023.
They also appealed for more appointments in the federal cabinet to enable them perform better in the 2027 election.
When contacted, the Publicity Secretary of the Emeka Beke-led All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State Darlington Nwauju said he could not respond to the accusations by the Renewed Hope family in Rivers State.
You can recall that the State Executive Committee led by Emeke Beke in Rivers State had earlier promised to work with stakeholders in the party to make APC a political force in the state.
Emeka Beke during a stakeholders meeting in Port Harcourt said the State Executive Council will unite aggrieved members to enable the party work towards wresting power from the ruling party in Rivers State.
Emeka Beke further assured that the party will cue into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu
