Gospel singer , Princess Njideka Okeke has replied to a netizen’s comment that claimed she received N15M from Phyno after he sampled her song on his latest track, ‘Grateful’. But her response was seemingly calm and indefinite. Her response was quite cryptic.
Veteran gospel artiste and actress, Princess Njideka Okeke also known as ‘Akanchawa’ hails from Anambra state, Nigeria. She is best known for her melodious and spiritually uplifting hit track ‘Akanchawa’. Njideka was married to Prince Gozie Okeke, who is also a Nigerian Gospel artist and producer, famously remembered for making one of Nigeria’s best seller ‘Akanchawa’ and they had 3 children together.
The Akanchawa songstress has since yesterday, addressed the rumors of receiving N15M from the highly-rated Nigerian rapper, Phyno.
Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike Ezege, who is know professionally as Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. He was born and raised in Enugu state, but is a native of Anambra state. Phyno started his music career as a producer in 2003, and is popularly known for rapping in Ogbo language.
Phyno who recently released an album, ‘Full Time Job’ sampled one of Princess Njideka and her ex-husband, Gozie Okeke’s songs on a track titled ‘Grateful’ which apparently is turning into a hit.
The Penthauze Music Leader has solidified his position as one of the top indigenous rappers in Nigeria. His fresh album ‘Full Time Job’, showcases his exceptional talent across fifteen impressive tracks, which one of the tracks happens to be sampling the song ‘Akanchawa’.
In light of the 15M naira gist, rumours began flying that Phyno compensated Princess Njideka with a whopping sum of 15 million naira as an appreciation for making such a hit track with her and her ex husband’s song.
Princess Njideka on her part subsequently took to her TikTok handle where she posted a video of her vibing to the ‘Grateful’ track by Phyno.
Reacting to the video, a TikToker addressed Njideka saying: “have been waiting for you to do this video, meanwhile I heard that phyno gave you 15m, do giveaway plzzzzzzz.”
Responding to the comment, Princess Njideka failed to confirm or debunk the rumour rather she dropped some love emojis.
