Transfer saga: Neymar's Reps Deny Footballer’s Possible Return to Barca

The reports linking Neymar Jr. with a return to Barcelona have been dismissed as false by the Brazilian's representatives.

Neymar, who transferred to Al-Hilal last year in a deal worth £68 million, is currently one of the Saudi League's most prominent signings.

His contract with Al-Hilal, reportedly valued at £130 million per year, ranks him among the highest-paid footballers globally.

The reports also suggested that the 32-year-old might be looking to end his stint in the Middle East.

Despite rumours suggesting Barcelona might re-sign Neymar, who joined PSG in a record £198 million transfer in 2017, his representatives have clarified that he remains fully committed to his role at Al-Hilal.

A statement released by the football star camp said: “Neymar is under contract with Al Hilal and he's happy in Riyadh. Soon he returns to the pitch to delight the fans.”

“The articles on Ney's return to Barça from Al Hilal are LIES and tremendous disrespect for Al Hilal and the athlete,” according to Fabrizio Romano.

The former PSG star has been reportedly plagued with Injuries since his transfer to the PIF-backed Al-Hilal. The 32-year-old player has made just five appearances during his time with the club and scored one goal in October 2023.

Neymar Jr. missed 271 days last season after being injured in his first few Al-Hilal appearances. It has also been reported that the former PSG star will subsequently undergo corrective surgery that requires extensive rehabilitation. Neymar is expected to return to action after stepping up recovery efforts.

Earlier reports suggested that Neymar was set to return to action for the 2024/2025 European club season.

The anticipation was fueled by speculation that the Brazilian star might make a significant comeback to the European football scene.

Despite the rumours, Neymar has reportedly already mapped out his future beyond his current contract.

After fulfilling the second year of his agreement in the Middle East, he has reportedly decided on his next move.

According to sources, Neymar recently visited the Vila Belmiro dressing room of his former club, Santos. During this visit, he informed the team that he plans to return to play in the Brazilian Championship in 2025.
