Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has showered accolades on President Bola Tinubu for appointing Dame Didi Walson-Jack, as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Fubara praised the new Head of Service of the Federation for her achievements as both a leader and an ambassador of Rivers State and the Niger Delta region.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi, and sent to newsmen on Monday, August 12, 2024.
He mentioned that her remarkable Civil Service career, including her appointment as a Permanent Secretary in 2017, has been marked by exemplary leadership, a high level of integrity, courage, perseverance and resilience.
Fubara added that Dame Didi Walson-Jack’s distinguished and exceptional public service career will inspire many young girls in the state to strive to achieve great heights in their lives.

He stated, “As you assume duties as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation effective 14th August, we are proud of the significant milestone you have achieved in your public service career.”
Fubara emphasized that Tinubu’s unique and admirable thoughtfulness and belief in merit in naming Dame Didi Esther Walson-Jack is worthy of emulation. He also praised him for being a father to all.
In his administration, Mr. President has once more demonstrated that he is a leader who is committed to fairness, justice, and national integration while upholding federal character, according to the Governor’s remarks.
He expressed his optimism that Dame Didi Esther Walson-Jack would utilize her extensive experience in this capacity and devise innovative ways to implement the service reforms outlined in Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the good of Nigerians.
Walson-Jack graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelor of Law degree and became a member of the bar in 1987.
In addition to being the solicitor-general of Bayelsa, she held the position of permanent secretary of the state ministry of justice before joining the federal civil service.
Her achievements include the Federal Integrated Staff Housing Programme (FISH) and contributions to labor relations and the national minimum wage.
She holds a degree from the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, Plateau State and also an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
