Ayra Starr Expresses Concerns About Feeling Old at Just 22

Afrobeats singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe professionally known as Ayra Starr, has recently Lamented about the effects of her busy schedule as an artist on her looks.


The songstress said despite being born in 2002, she already feels “old.”

She revealed that she had met people born in the 90s who were younger and more vibrant than her.


Starr in the early hours of today at a one on one interview in Kenya, mentioned that she has met various persons born in the days of the 90’s, and mentioned how she envied them for how vibrant and young they were. The star artist also lamented further about how she’s still so young but yet, feels old.


“Don’t get me wrong, while I have calculated plans for the future, all in all, I love being young and I’m not trying to be older than my age. I’m still loud and hyperactive. I’m not thinking too deep into it,” she insisted.


“I have met people who were born in the 90s and they’re so vibrant and so young. I’m old and I was just born in 2002,” she lamented.

“I want to stay home, I want to sleep.”


On what inspires her creative process, the singer said, “I feel like the more I make music, the more I recognize what my path is and what I’m trying to do.”

“The more I learn about life, the more I pour into my music. I am always evolving. So, I want them to listen and evolve.”


“Starr is all about making music for people who ‘need’ it. Vague as that might sound, I’m certain people who need my words and voice, will one way or the other, find it”, she contributed.

““If I fail, I’m going to get up and continue. It’s what makes me dangerous and unstoppable”.


Ayra is a Nigerian Singer and songwriter. She’s also a member of Mavin Records belonging to popular songwriter, singer and producer Don Jazzy.

The Edo state born refers to herself as a celestial being, it is her name on Instagram.


She is also well recognized for her fashion sense. Ayra has successfully become the youngest African female artist to surpass 100 Million views on a single video on  YouTube and also the first to do so within 5 months.
