Abia Govt Launches Free Shuttles for 2024 Aba Trade Fair

The Abia State Government has announced the provision of free shuttle buses for the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair, ensuring convenient transport for attendees.


Engr. Emetu presented these plans at a press briefing on Wednesday which took place at the Bouquet Hall in the Government House.


He stated that this services will operate for the duration of the event, beginning on November 28th, 2024.


Additionally, He also revealed key plans for the event’s launch were revealed, with expectations for a large turnout.


The Deputy Governor stated that the event will be held at the Aba Mega Mall, situated along the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway in Abia State. He emphasized that the venue is easily accessible for attendees.


He mentioned that the venue will host a variety of activities during the Trade Fair, providing attendees with diverse experiences. These activities will offer numerous opportunities for participants to engage and interact throughout the event.


The Aba International Trade Fair will take place over 10 days, beginning on November 28, 2024, and concluding on December 7, 2024.


He also highlighted that the event is expected to draw 10,000 participants from across the country and internationally. He stated that participants will showcase their products and innovations during the Trade Fair.


He said that this expected large turnout is expected to create significant business opportunities.


“Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a wide range of essential items for both business and household needs.


“Additionally, the event will provide a platform for networking, allowing visitors to build valuable business relationships and social connections that could benefit them personally and professionally”, he mentioned.


“Free buses will provide attendees with convenient and safe transportation throughout the day, making it easier for them to travel to and from the event.


“The buses will provide safe transportation to and from the event each day. Participants will be taken to the fairgrounds and returned to their hotels without hassle”, he added.


Engr. Emetu affirmed his commitment to supporting the committee in organizing a memorable Trade Fair, as directed by Abia State Governor Alex Otti.


He committed to doing everything necessary to make the event a success for all participants. His focus is on ensuring a positive and impactful experience for everyone involved.


Emetu emphasized the high expectations for a large turnout of visitors, businesspeople, and shoppers at the event.


He said that the trade fair is anticipated to attract significant attention from various individuals and groups looking to engage in business and shopping.


He assured that a thorough security plan is in place to guarantee the safety of all attendees and participants at the venue.


Emetu noted that comprehensive measures have been put in place to ensure a secure environment throughout the event.


The Deputy Governor said, these precautions are designed to prioritize the safety of all attendees and participants.


He shared key updates on the preparations for the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair, which will be co-hosted by the Abia State Government and the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ACCIMA).


These updates highlight the progress made in organizing the event.


Engr. Emetu who also doubles as the Chairman of the event announced that invitations have been sent to multiple states, chambers of commerce, and local business owners to boost participation in the Aba Trade Fair.


He said that the event aims to broaden engagement and showcase diverse businesses.


He stated, “Invitations have been sent to the governments of all 35 states, including the FCT, over 50 embassies and high commissions, numerous chambers of commerce across the country, more than 300 businesses, including manufacturers, importers, service providers, oil companies, and industrialists both within the state and nationwide.”


His inauguration will kick off the event, setting the stage for a series of activities.


Dignitaries from Nigeria and abroad are expected to attend the symposium, bringing a diverse mix of local and international guests to the event.
