Doctor Wanted as Client Dies During Buttock enlargement

Police operatives in Lagos has declared wanted a doctor by the name Idara Bassey over a failed butt enlargement procedure which resulted to  the death of a 36-year-old lady identified as Abiola.

Butt enlargement is popularly known as Brazilian Butt Lift, which entails a form of cosmetic surgery that involves taking out fat from other areas of the body and injecting it into the buttocks to create a fuller, rounder appearance.

The state police command spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed this to Newsmen on Thursday said the deceased passed away during a buttocks enlargement procedure at a clinic in the Lekki Phase 1 area Lagos.

It was gathered that the said lady had on appointment, visited the clinic for a buttocks enlargement process which unfortunately resulted to her death after a nurse in the hospital who acted on the Doctor’s order administered an injection.

Hundeyin added that the nurse who administered the injection had been arrested emphasizing that the owner of the clinic was currently on the run.“The clinic’s owner is on the run,” he stated.

When asked whether the fleeing doctor had been declared wanted by the police, Hundeyin confirmed this, stating that the doctor was still considered a “suspect” in the case.“She’s on the run. Of course, she’s a suspect,” Hundeyin added.

As gathered, late Abiola had left  her home in the Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, in the Ibeju Lekki area of the state, instructing her driver to take her to the clinic for the procedure on Monday.

However, after the nurse allegedly administered the injection, following the doctor’s instructions, the driver who had brought the lady to the clinic informed the police that she lost consciousness and began gasping for breath.

The Police Spokesperson said that the nurse was arrested after the Maroko Police Division received a report on Tuesday at about 11.40 a.m. from the driver of the deceased.

“The victim was rescued and rushed to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1 for treatment, where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

“Based on the report, the scene was visited by a team of detectives.

”The hospital was also visited, where the corpse was inspected and photographed, before it was evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy,” he said.
