The Bayelsa state governor, Senator Douye Diri has assured Bayelsans that his administration will continue to address environmental issues such as flooding, oil spillage and other environmental issues that have plagued the state.
He gave the assurance during his October First state wide broadcast to mark Nigeria's 64th Independence and Bayelsa at 28 on Tuesday.
"With our rich natural resources, including crude oil and natural gas, the state has the potential to become a shining example of progress. We will pursue development and continue to address environmental issues like soot pollution, flooding, and oil spillage that have plagued the state".
The Bayelsa state helmsman noted that in the past four years, his administration has focussed on Peace and security, sports, education, healthcare, road infrastructure, human capacity building, empowerment and skills acquisition.
"In the past four years, we have made significant strides. These include but not limited to remarkable achievements in peace and security, sports, education, healthcare, road infrastructure, human capacity building, empowerment and skills acquisition. These are all a testament to the power of unity, cooperation, and a shared vision for development".
According to him, these achievements have laid a foundation for his administration's ASSURED PROSPERITY Agenda which is the compass steering them towards a happier future for Bayelsa in his second tenure".
He noted that the comprehensive framework is built on seven pillars which are: Agriculture, Revolution and Blue Economy; Sports and Youth Development; Security and Peace; Urban Renewal and Rural Development; Robust Healthcare Delivery; Energy Generation, Economic Growth and Tourism; Diversifying Education towards Innovation and Technology which are his administration's comprehensive framework.
