Indications have emerged that former Governor of Imo State, Hon Emeka Ihedioha is set to pitch his tent with Labour Party (LP) few months after dumping the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with thousands of his henchmen and supporters.
Our correspondent gathered that the LP and Rebuild Imo Movement, Ihedioha’s campaign structure are set to consummate their relationship.

Speaking to our correspondent on Wednesday, the Coordinator of the Rebuild Imo Movement in Aboh Mbaise LGA, Nze Anselem Ikwu expressed the willingness of the movement to synergize with the party in order to fortify the voting strength in the council area.
Ikwu spoke at the residence of the Chairman of the LP, Aboh Mbaise Chapter Chief Evans Uloneme.
He said; "We the representatives of Rebuild Imo movement in Aboh Mbaise LGA are here today to join forces with your members to ensure that no other political party in the council area picks one tenth of the votes cast in the council area come any election."
Also speaking, a top member of Rebuild Imo Movement, Chief Richmond Osuji corroborated the submission of the coordinator adding that formal declaration for the party will soon take place.
Osuji stated that many political parties have wooed Ihedioha, but the consensus of his followers is the Labour Party and there was no going back.
Responding, the Chairman of the Labour Party in Aboh Mbaise LGA, Chief Evans Uloneme expressed delight in their joining the party and assured them that he will stop at nothing in ensuring the marriage is solemnized to the glory of God.
Chief Uloneme agreed that the marriage between the two will further strengthen the voting capacity of the party and enjoined them to go to their respective wards and commence registration before the whistle blows officially.
He submitted that only the fowl holds tight to an office when its service is no longer needed.
He effusively thanked the Nze Anselem Ikwu-led delegation and assured of his maximum cooperation more importantly as the state chairman of the Labour Party is aware of their visit and has given his approval to that effect.
In the entourage of the Rebuild Imo Movement were senior journalist, Ori Martins, woman Leader; Secretary of the Movement in the council area; the Legal adviser among others.
Recall that Ihedioha was declared winner of the 2019 Governorship poll in Imo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
He was ousted from the Governorship seat seven months after by the Supreme Court, which declared Senator Hope Uzodimma as the validly elected governor of the state.
