The Governor, Douye Diri, along with the state executive council, were reportedly devastated by the news.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Mrs. Elizabeth Bidei, whose contributions to the growth and welfare of the people of Bayelsa were immeasurable,” the statement read. It also expressed the government's heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family, particularly to her widower, Chief Jackson Bidei, and their children, during this incredibly difficult time.

“Our hearts go out to the bereaved family, especially her husband and children. We stand with them in prayers, asking for divine comfort and strength as they navigate this painful period of loss,” the statement continued.
